The site for this building is located in the City of London adjacent to the junction of Old Bailey and High Holborn. The scheme provides office accommodation contained within a retained listed building and a new office building connected to it. The relationship between the new and existing buildings is addressed by the design of the link which visually separates the two, an articulation further enhanced by the massing and external appearance of the new building which seeks to complement, rather than compete with the retained building. The V-shaped plan of the new building creates two wings between which a glass covered atrium extends full height. |
