Foggo Associates' multi-disciplinary structure embodies our core design philosophy of integrated building design with a major emphasis on the effective and efficient use of resources.

In 1992 Foggo Associates were one of three architectural practices selected to take part in a research project for low energy urban office design sponsored by the Deparment of Trade & Industry. This hypothetical scheme proved a useful vehicle for developing technical expertise, allowing the team to explore and refine low energy strategies.
An opportunity to incorporate this knowledge into a real scheme came later in 1992, when Foggo Associates won an international competition for eight low-energy mixed mode buildings and the masterplan for the Brno Technology Park in the Czech Republic.
Another competition winning scheme in 1993, on the "brownfield" site of a redundant gas works in Leeds, incorporates low-energy mixed mode buildings in a speculative commercial development. Construction work started on the first phase following decontamination of the site using bio-remediation. No1 Leeds City Office Park, completed in 1995, was chosen by the European Commission to feature as an exempler building under the "EC 2000" programme. The building won a Civic Trust Award and both No1 and the larger No2 Leeds City Office Park have been assessed under the BREEAM scheme and achieved an "Excellent" rating.
